ارسطو و نظریه تصمیم (پروهایرسیس)

چکیده

مسئله تصمیم (پروهایرسیس) از جمله مسائل مهم در اندیشه اخلاقی ارسطو است. اصطلاح پروهایرسیس برای نخستین بار به صورت روشمند توسط ارسطو وارد مباحث فلسفی شد. مفاهیمی چون قصد، اراده، هدف، گزینش، گزینش هدفمند، گزینش عقلانی، گزینش متأملانه از جمله اصطلاحات آمده درخصوص ترجمه پروهایرسیس است که به نظر می‌رسد اصطلاح اخیر (گزینش متأملانه) تعریف ارسطو از پروهایرسیس باشد. درک مفاهیمی چون فرونسیس، فعل، قصد، باور، آرزو، اراده و فضایل برای فهم ساختار درونی پروهایرسیس در ارسطو لازم و ضروری است. در واقع این مفاهیم ارتباط مستقیمی با مفهوم پروهایرسیس دارند. ارسطو تصمیم یا همان پروهایرسیس را به عنوان یک گزینش متأملانه برای انجام فعلی که در برابر ماست تعریف می‌کند. از نظر وی اگر یک فعل در نتیجه یک تصمیم محقق شود آن فعل اختیاری است، اما عکس و خلاف آن معتبر نمی-باشد. وی معتقد است حیوانات و کودکان به طور ارادی عمل می‌کنند اما آنها تصمیم نمی‌گیرند، زیرا آنها فاقد تعمق و تأمل‌ورزی هستند.
