International Conference 2025 (Online): The Future of the World: New Philosophical Problems

The Journal of Philosophical Investigations of the University of Tabriz, in collaboration with the House of Iranian Wisdom in Vienna, Austria, will hold the international hybrid (online and in-person) conference titled "The Future of the World: New Philosophical Problems " on November 20–21, 2025 (corresponding to Aban 29–30, 1404 in the Iranian calendar), with the participation of prominent philosophers from Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

In today's world, major issues facing humanity in the 21st century—including environmental crises, human rights, the philosophy of war and peace, potential nuclear threats, developments in modern science, artificial intelligence, social and ethical concerns, the crisis of parliamentary democracies, neoliberalism and its challenges, the value of the individual in society, humanism and post-humanism, art and technology, social justice, the crisis of meaning and nihilism, genetics and cloning and their ethical implications, the meaning of justice and rights, and more—demand thorough philosophical analysis.

To determine the key themes for this conference, a number of philosophers were contacted via email and asked to share their views on the future of the world and its emerging philosophical questions. The aforementioned issues summarize the feedback received from these philosophers.
