Abstract

The aim of this study is to rethink and reconfigure the relationship between education and truth through the philosophy of Alain Badiou. The expansion of Sophistic pedagogy in the contemporary era has significantly weakened the connection between education and truth; accordingly, this article seeks to open a pathway for redefining this relationship.



To this end, the study employs an analytical–philosophical method. First, the key concepts of Badiou’s philosophy are examined and clarified. Subsequently, the precise relations between education and truth are analyzed on the basis of the conceptual framework derived from Badiou’s philosophy, and the meaning of education is reconstructed and reformulated in light of this analysis.



The findings indicate that education is not a producer of truth; rather, it maintains a secondary and dual relation to it. This relation can be conceptualized as “education as the organization of sites of evental possibility and fidelity to the event of truth.” Ultimately, the implications of this formulation distinguish genuine education from repressive education and transform it into a space for the practice of truth-procedures.
