Abstract

The question concerning humanism ask we from Martin Heidegger, who has that about a famous Text: Biref über den Humanismus. The Text contains a historical version that about, that is important for our Iranian, because it can help to overcoming of our misunderstandings of Humanism. Anyway, both Heidegger's historical version and critique must be understood as parts of his philosophy.

After a general preface about Humanism and an introduction to the importance of Heidegger's discussion on it, the first part represents his historical version, that which is not much different from the common understanding of the western popular intellectuals. Heidegger in his historical discussion stress its raoman-greek essence, which emerges in Italian humanism of 14-15th century, in German second Humanism in 19th century and metaphysics of Marx, Christianity, Husserl and Sartre. The second part briefly describes Heidegger's critique of Humanism, which is based on his totally special understanding of metaphysics. The main pillar of Heidegger's historical-philosophical critique on metaphysics is heir based on the common understanding of human Being in it: "man is animal rationale". Humanism and metaphysics need at the same time each other necessarily.
